I didn’t touch the manuscript this week. (I find it helps to put writing away and think about it, then come back to it fresh.) But I recognize a couple of places where I will need to make my argument a little tighter.

I finally watched Mudbound, after months of nagging by my son. (It was great. Thanks, Isaiah.) I am on Episode 4 of the podcast series Dolly Parton's America, and I can't begin to tell you how much I love it.

Kin’s daughter is visiting for the long holiday weekend.
