Other Projects
- Kin and I recorded Episode 16 of our podcast
- The end of July meant time for backups, invoicing, updates to my various websites and to my CV, etc
- I installed Wikity at notes.audreywatters.com
- I did some work on the Drone Recovery site and sent out the latest (last?) newsletter
- I offered a few edits to an article that ELI will publish soon about the blockchain
- I prepped for the class I’m teaching this upcoming week at the Digital Pedagogy Lab. I’ve created a Web 101 guide (which is still very much a work-in-progress, but hopefully I’ll have it finished by Tuesday)
- I spent time on the phone dealing with my dad’s estate early in the week, but by the end of it, it looks like everything’s almost all wrapped up. Thank god. Now I’ll actually be able to process everything that’s happened in the last year+ with my dad’s death
Reading and Viewing
- We started watching Stranger Things
- I reread Seymour Papert’s Mindstorms and The Children’s Machine
- I read Ursula Franklin’s The Real World of Technology
- I started reading Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad
Family and Friends
- On Friday, we went for a BBQ at Gary and Sylvia’s. We got to meet “the greatest grand-baby in the world” and, of course, we got to spend a lot of time talking about Seymour
- On Saturday, we met up with Mehdi and his family for drinks
- The kid has put in an application for an apartment in PDX, so hopefully that will all be settled too. Fingers crossed…
