Other Projects
- Kin and I recorded the latest episode of our podcast
- I started work on my year-end Top Ed-Tech Trends series
- I talked with folks at Middlebury about their “domains” initiative
- I got a massage (It didn’t help)
Reading and Viewing and Listening and Gaming
- I started reading Hannah Arendt’s The Origins of Totalitarianism
- I listed to a lot of Leonard Cohen (RIP) and to the new A Tribe Called Quest album (RIP Phife). I tried watching movies – anything to keep my mind off the election. I cannot listen to the news, particularly NPR’s normalization of authoritarian racism
Family and Friends
- I’ve been in almost constantly contact with my kid about the election results. I’m so worried about him – and he is white and male and het. I am so frightened for all the youth I know who are brown and female and queer and Muslim. I am so frightened for this planet, for global climate change that just had fuel thrown on to the Earth-warming fire. I am so appalled to see so many adults in my midst who do not seem to notice that the people in their care – their own children and grandchildren, their friends, their neighbors – are already under assault by this new administration
